The large feed rollers and uniquely shaped hopper enhances the chippers’ ability to efficiently pull trees towards the chipping drum - reducing prep-time of material with side branches which in turn saves money as labor costs and chainsaw costs is reduced. The large 700mm in diameter chipping drum with 4 staggered blades are perfectly matched with the 100Hp Perkins 4 cylinder diesel engine - ensuring unrivaled daily production and reduced running costs per ton - makes this the most powerful 300mm ma-chine on the market! The TOMCAT Model 4375 AFE 3IC is a large capacity brush chipper fitted with a 175HP 6 cylinder PERKINS watercooled engine, 3.0m steel in-feed conveyor and agricultural axle (non-roadworthy) to allow for easy mechanical loading with machinery equipped with a hydraulic grab. With TOMCAT’s latest innovation of the heavy-duty steel conveyor system and the state-of-the-art features available on the standard Model 4375 AFE, we continue to provide unique product offerings! The Model 4375 AFE 3IC wood chipper is purpose-built for compost producers, rental companies, forestry, contractors and fruit farmers in the macadamia nut & citrus industries. The operator has full hydraulic control over the topfeed roller, height adjustment and direction of the discharge chute/flipper. The 3.0 m steel in-feed conveyor allows for continuous feeding, ensures easy loading of larger branches and will reduce operator fatigue. A uniquely designed chipper drum with a diameter of 780mm paired with a 175HP engine will ensure the highest production is met. With TOMCAT’s addition of the heavy-duty steel conveyor system and the state-of-the-art features available on the standard Model 4375 AFE, we continue to raise the bar yet again! The Model 4375 AFE 2IC wood chipper is purpose-built for compost producers, rental companies, forestry, contractors and fruit farmers in the macadamia nut & citrus industries. The operator has full hydraulic control over the top-feed roller, height adjustment and direction of the discharge chute/flipper. The 2.0 m steel in-feed conveyor allows for continuous feeding, ensures easy loading of larger branches and will reduce operator fatigue. A uniquely designed chipper drum with a diameter of 780mm paired with a 125HP engine hits the ultimate sweet spot with regards to fuel efficiency vs output. Running costs per cubic meter are reduced significantly with the large diameter drum, 4-cylinder water-cooled engine, 4 staggered chipping blades, in-feed conveyor together with its hydraulic features. A steel toolbox secures the battery and there is enough space to carry the necessary tools. A spare wheel will provide you with added peace of mind. The chipper is fitted with an electronic safety cut-out switch on the drum inspection plate and emergency stop switches are placed strategically around the conveyor to prevent injuries. An angled in-feed hopper will reduce prep work. The wood chipper is mounted on an SABS roadworthy, double-axle trailer, which allows for easy transportation.

CHIPPER FEATURES

Our TOMCAT screen chipper was designed and developed specifically for farmers in drought-stricken areas where there was no natural food in the veld and the sheep, goats and cattle were fed in feed pens. The screen chipper limits oversized material with the use of a screen, which allows the blades to cut the bigger material finer until it falls through the screen. Chip size can be adjusted with different sized screens to create the desired product. An auger is used to discharge the chips to the side of the chipper, where the material can be discharged directly into bags. Auger extensions are available at an additional cost, should you want to load trailers.

Why should I consider a TOMCAT screen chipper?
• The machine is purpose-built to chip the side branches of invasive trees quickly and efficiently day in and day out!
• The drum-style design cuts with the grain of the wood and changing the cutting blades only takes a couple of minutes
• NO NEED FOR DOUBLE HANDLING OR FURTHER PROCESSING. The screen keeps the material in the chipping chamber until it passes through the screen, which will allow you to get the desired end product. This saves you time, labour and fuel!

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

Our PTO-driven WN1600 & WN3000 units are built to work through compost heaps efficiently and economically. The WN1600 is for 1.6m rows and the WN3000 is for 3.0m rows. These machines are strongly built with simplicity, which makes them easy to use and to maintain. They have been designed to produce microbially-active, high-quality compost. Tractors with a crawler gear with speeds between 250-750 meters per hour are essential for these machines to operate efficiently.

A special hardened steel is used to manufacture the blades to ensure long lifespan and reduce running/maintenance costs. Each blade is uniquely shaped to bring the compost from the bottom to the top and from the outside to the inside. This allows the compost rows to have a chimney effect to create the perfect flow for CO2/Oxygen. Adding moisture to your compost will increase the microbial activity and is an essential part of compost making. A pipe is fitted where a quick coupler and hose can be attached. This unit requires little maintenance and a regular rinse will enhance the lifespan.

Unique Features:
• These compost turners have a transport mode.
• The unit is quickly converted from operational mode to transport mode with the use of hydraulics.
• Because of this feature the machine is easy to maintain, especially when you have breakdowns while in operation, as it cuts into a heap or turns quickly out of it.

All our PTO (tractor driven) chippers are built standard on a base with skids that hooks up on 3 point of the tractor. Trailerized options makes it easier to connect and transport a PTO chipper over longer distances. It also takes a lot of strain off of the tractors 3-point especially when the chippers 3 point hydraulic system cannot pick up the weight of chipper. Trailerized options are available upon request at an additional cost on all our PTO chippers. We currently have 2 trailerized options:

40km/h Roadworthy Trailer

The SABS approved roadworthy 40km/h trailer option is has an un-braked axle and can be towed on public roads at speeds of up to 40km/h. Its got leaf springs and an eye coupler connects up to the tractor’s tow bar. It’s got a lower feeding height than the Farm Trailer option and reduces operator fatigue. This option is not available after-market and must be ordered before-hand.

120km/h Roadworthy Trailer

The 120km/h trailer is the same as the 40km/h unit, but has a braked-axle can be towed on public roads up to speeds of 120km/h. The Roadworthy options are not available after market and needs to be requested before purchase of a PTO chipper.

This option is when your chipper is working close to the sea or will be transported on a daily basis. The galvanized finish makes the trailer last longer. The Zinc corrodes 30 times slower than steel does, so trailers are better protected from rust and corrosion than standard spray painted trailers. Little stones jumps up while driving causing scratches on the trailer's paint. This will make it rust quickly especially along the coastline. Hot dip galvanized trailers costs a little more initially but is more durable and lasts longer than standard spray painted trailers.

100mm Drum-Style Gravity-Feed Chippers

The TOMCAT Model 4100 wood chipper looks small, but is built to the same standard as its bigger counterparts and will outperform any competitive product in its size range in terms of running costs, durability and efficiency. Currently the smallest wood chipper in our range. A simple & lightweight design with minimal maintenance makes this chipper a must-have for every small holding, nursery or landscaper. The petrol engine is extremely fuel-efficient, easy to service and will ensure years of dependable service. Extremely low maintenance- and running costs on the whole unit. Easy to move around on site and operate. A swivel discharge chute allows the operator to change the direction of the chip discharge and the chip deflector is easy to adjust. The narrow design on the Model 4100 CDT allows it to get through narrow gates and into back gardens without any hassle. The Model 4100 CDE is also available on an SABS roadworthy trailer.
