TOMCAT Woodchippers are designed & manufactured in South Africa by Tomcat Manufacturing since 2009. Being a local manufacturer means that we understand the environment our machines operate in. We design what the market requires, not what we think is "nice". We understand the environmental factors, the terrain and the types of trees woodchippers need to cope with in Africa.
Hard trees, slow growing vegetation, fibrous material, machines working 16 hour shifts, little time for maintenance and woodchippers working to their literal maximum output are just some of the factors that TOMCAT Woodchippers understands. Being locally manufactured allows us to custom build machines to our clients' individual needs and implement product improvements on the design of the woodchipper quickly.
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT & GEN4
TOMCAT Chippers are currently manufacturing the 4th generation of locally designed woodchippers. Since the launch of the first GEN1 chipper in 2009 every client and unique application presented an opportunity for product improvement. In 14 years of specializing in woodchippers, the TOMCAT line of woodchippers evolved from a relatively low-cost, light-to-medium-duty woodchipper to a robust, heavy-duty, industrial-built woodchipper with unrivalled performance, which has become the most sought after woodchippers on the continent. The TOMCAT GEN4 design was in R&D for several years and launched in September of 2023.

Innovative design features such as the clip-on belt cover, easy access to the anvil and chipping blades save the chipper operator/technician a great deal of time to quickly assess wear and tear and performance maintenance on the critical components.

MAINTENANCE-FRIENDLY MACHINES
Daily maintenance is a crucial part of running a successful woodchipper operation. Checking and setting the anvil clearance, checking the belt & clutch tension, swopping blades around and cleaning out the air filters are part of the daily routine. At TOMCAT the machines were designed with the operator and maintenance technician in mind. By allowing the wear parts to be easily accessible and reducing the number of bolts by replacing them with latches, we reduce downtime and increase production, which directly means more money in your pocket.
ESTABLISHED DEALER AND SUPPLIER NETWORK
TOMCAT Chippers has partnered with selected lawnmower shops and tractor dealers across Southern Africa to reduce service costs and downtime. Only over the counter parts (hydraulic components, pulleys, v-belts, bearings, bolts & nuts and engine filters) are used, which makes it easy to source it anywhere in the country and limits standing time.

We provide a 2-year warranty on our equipment to ensure that it’s free from defects in workmanship and to give our clients the ultimate peace of mind.

- Honda Petrol engines come with a 1-year warranty carried by dealers countrywide.

DELIVERY AND THOROUGH PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
TOMCAT Chippers provides chipper delivery and full product introduction on site anywhere in South Africa at no extra cost to the client. On delivery day the TOMCAT Sales Representative will discuss all the maintenance, safety and operational aspects of the woodchipper with the operators and technicians. A proper product introduction results in a safer working environment, better productivity and reduction in breakdowns.
