New TOMCAT Dealer in Namibia!
We are extremely proud to announce that we have officially appointed a new dealer in Namibia: John Deere Agri in Namibia, also known as Hoffmann’s Farm Implements. Their head office is situated in Otjiwarongo, in the North of the country, with service dealers in Mariental and Otavi. The representative that will be dealing with TOMCAT products is Marius Cronje. As he used to sell our chippers 6 years ago, Marius knows our products very well and is doing a fantastic job representing TOMCAT as a brand, as well as our products.
John Deere Agri specialises in selling various types of machinery in the farming sector, including John Deere tractors 42Kw to 431Kw, combine harvesters, balers, wheat planters, sprayers and commercial lawn equipment. The company shares John Deere’s international vision of mutually beneficial growth and outstanding customer satisfaction. Understanding farmers and the farming industry are two important factors, which contribute to their success.
One of the most significant practical applications of TOMCAT Wood Chippers in Namibia at present will be the production of animal feed from encroaching bush, also known as “BosKos” (Bos tot Kos). Read more about this process in one of our previous articles. Namibia is experiencing one of the worst droughts in years and the farmers are looking for ways to produce feed for their cattle. The encroaching bush (mostly Swarthaak and Sekelbos) is cut down and the thin brush processed to a smaller form which can be fed to the cattle. TOMCAT has various machines at the moment that we can supply to farmers desperate to make their own animal feed. From a standard chipper, to screen chippers and even a chipper shredder specifically developed for the Bos-Tot-Kos industry. This machine will produce the perfect end product in one pass, using only one engine source – which drastically reduces running costs and increases production/output.
We are looking forward to a great relationship with JDE Agri in Namibia and look forward to helping farmers by providing them with quality South African products to satisfy their specific needs.
